The Manager (Promotion and Publicity) is mainly responsible to (a) assist in drawing up and implementing the marketing strategies and plans to help uplift the image of the construction industry; (b) provide public relations support and carry out public relations /media programmes and marketing strategies to promote the construction industry; and (c) assist in devising performance indicators and regularly monitor achievements.

The post is open to both male and female. Candidates should have- (a) a degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, preferably a higher degree, majoring in business administration, marketing, public relations, communication, journalism an advantage; (b) at least four years managerial working experience, with experience in marketing, brand building, event management, corporate communications, public relations and media management in sizeable corporations, non-government organizations, public relations agents or government departments an advantage; (c) good written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; (d) Chinese Language and English Language at 'Level 3' or above in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Notes]; or having met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Exercise, or equivalent; (e) ability to work under pressure and with commitment in a demanding corporate environment; and (f) necessary stature and confidence to manage and respond to situations.

Notes: For non-civil service appointment purpose, 'Grade C' in the Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE is accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' in the Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE.

Terms of Appointment: One year non-civil service contract terms.

Salary: $30,000 per month

Fringe Benefits: (a) A gratuity may be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, may add up to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. (b) Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), 12 days of annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
