Job Description
(a) To assist the Assessment Panel on Moral and Civic Education (AP(MCE)) in the assessment of nominations for the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence (2010/2011) under the direction of AP(MCE); (b) To provide professional advice and support to AP(MCE), such as devising assessment criteria, undertaking research, gathering supplementary information from nominators, seconders and nominees as necessary, arranging for and participating in interviews with nominees, school visits and class observation, taking notes and compiling reports; (c) To compile a comprehensive report on the assessment of nominations for AP(MCE); and (d) To undertake other work as may be assigned by AP(MCE) or the Education Bureau.

Requirements
(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree or equivalent; (b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent; and (c) At least 10 years' post-degree teaching experience in local schools with 5 or more years' experience related to MCE or in quality assurance or curriculum development work of MCE. Experience in training / assessing teachers is preferred. Candidates with relevant experience in value education, moral and civic education, national education, etc. would be an advantage.

Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.(The appointment may be extended at the sole discretion of the Education Bureau based on exigency of service.)
Remuneration
Salary: $49,000 per month
Fringe Benefits: (a) 14 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays, maternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance. (b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
