Assessment Assistant (Mathematics) (EDB/PDT/121/10) - (Non-Civil Service)
Job Description
(a) To assist the Assessment Consultant in the assessment of nominations, including collecting and collating supplementary information from nominators, seconders and nominees under the direction of the Assessment Consultant, grouping / categorizing nominations received, conducting simple research in verifying the information provided in the nomination documents under the guidance of the Assessment Consultant, arranging interviews, school visits and class observations as well as taking videos and photos, providing logistical support to the Assessment Consultant in connection with the compilation of the Assessment Report for the Assessment Panel, etc; (b) To set up and maintain a database on the nominations of the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence (2010/2011); and (c) Any other duties assigned.

General Notes: (a)Please mark clearly the EDB Job Code and specific contract post applied for, e.g. Assessment Assistant (Mathematics) (EDB/PDT/121/10).(b) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.(c) Non-civil service vacancies are not posts on the civil service establishment. Requirements
(a) A pass in 2 subjects at Advanced Level in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) plus three other subjects (including English Language and Mathematics) at Grade C/Level 3 or above in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Notes (1)]; (b) Well-versed in common office computer software such as Microsoft Office; and (c) At least 2 years' education-related working experience.

Notes: (1)'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE held before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. (2)Please state “Application for Assessment Assistant (Mathematics)” on the envelope.

Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.
Remuneration
Salary: $12,500 per month

Fringe Benefits: (a) 7 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays, maternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
