Part-time Assessment Consultant (Special Education)(EDB/PDT/120/10) - (Non-Civil Service)
Job Description
(a) To assist the Assessment Panel on Special Education (Special Schools) (AP(SP)) in the assessment of nominations for the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence (2010/2011) under the direction of AP(SP); (b) To provide professional advice and support to AP(SP), such as devising assessment criteria, undertaking research, gathering supplementary information from nominators, seconders and nominees as necessary, arranging for and participating in interviews with nominees, school visits and class observation, taking notes and compiling reports; (c) To compile a comprehensive report on the assessment of nominations for AP(SP); and (d) To undertake other work as may be assigned by AP(SP) or the Education Bureau.

Requirements
(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree or equivalent; (b) A certificate in education specialising in Special Education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent; and (c) At least 10 years' post-degree teaching experience in local special schools or in quality assurance or curriculum development work in the teaching of relevant curriculum. Experience in training / assessing teachers is preferred.

Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.(The appointment may be extended at the sole discretion of the Education Bureau based on exigency of service.)
Remuneration
Salary: $20,225 per month (17.5 working hours per week)
